No Words

NO words can verbalize what I experienced tonight,
when the music went directly to my hear
and a message of Peace, Love and Compassion reached
my core, and there reverberated into one giant ecstatic, cosmic
sense of Unity and Love!

WOW can you imagine the creative soul behind this music….
ありがとうございます Sugizo

and Thank You, Hiroko and Phoe-Lo

for an absolutely fantastic day and night!!

Yamitsuki Ticket

The Yamitsuki ticket delivered to my door!

Love Tokyo’s delivery service!!
I just decided a few days ago, to go and check out Yamitsuki
on December 24th.
And taaaadaaa here is the ticket at my door today!
Nice envelop too Yamitsuki!
Japan knows how to put quality into everything!!
so December 24th too…. yeah…
Why not fill the whole week with live gigs while at it? ha ha

Yesterday I went to a LIVE with ‘fade’  at “WWW”, a venue in Shibuya.
The whole arrangement was very well organized, and sincere thanks to
Mr. Sato and Ms. Shin for paying such care and service at WWW
http://www-shibuya.jp/index.html

Tonight I’m going to meet a Swedish friend, and translator here in Tokyo.
Because my involvement with all kinds of projects are increasing at
rocket speed, I’m now in dire need of a translator for some interviews
and interactions with people.
Some very hectic days are coming up in a row, and I’m already on this
busy streak. Monday (12-19) was the Sakura House party
and after the party I went out with some new friends I made at the party!
YAY!
Yesterday was ‘fade’ with Phoe-Lo, and the new Italian friend, Mauro,
met up with us after for some eating, and very nutritious social times.
Really wonderful to hang out together as he is very creative,
and full of inspiration and ideas!

Tomorrow I will meet with lovely Hiroko-san,  and I really appreciate
her taking time from her busy schedule to see me here in Shibuya
before we go and see
★ ★ ★ Sugizo ★ ★ ★ at Zepp Tokyo!
so good times every day (and night)!

See I am really in paradise, so please do NOT pinch me.
I do not wish to come out of this matrix!

Friday (12-23) is DIE-san’s X-mas party at the Club Sensation,
(Hinodecho) Yokohama
with CUTT and Pata and Michiaki.

Then the above Yamitsuki Live on Saturday /Christmas Eve
and  of course…… Sunday 12-25 at Urawa Narciss…
my beloved

Club Citta – hide’s BD Party

hide’s BIRTHDAY PARTY at Club CITTA

December 13th, 2011

Today was a very busy day!
I had to redesign my business cards, research and find documents
online, make them into pdf:s, go and print them at the local
konbini (コンビニ convenience store), register for a few web sites…
There just wasn’t enough time to blog much.
I wanted to give you these flowers though.
They were in the parade of flowers just outside of the Club Citta
entrance on Tuesday night.
Tomorrow I have to run some errands, plus I want to hang out a
little with my Russian friend, whom I call Phoe-Lo here on the blog.

Next week coming up is a concert with “fade”.
They might not be so known outside of Japan, beside the fact that
their vocalist, Jon Underdown, sings together with Gackt
in YELLOW FRIED CHICKENz

Also next week… super stoked about this one…
is Sugizo Solo at Zepp Tokyo
That will probably be just plain AWESOME!!

Then immediately the next day after is
DIE’s special Xmas Night
with guests : Pata  / CUTT / michiaki

Probably another AWESOME night!
I must say Ra:IN was incredible to hear at Club Citta and with such
a bunch of awesome musicians it just cannot go wrong!
Sooooo much awesomeness!!
Tokyo and Japan certainly delivers!!

Pata feels like a totally different person with Ra:IN though,
than  when he is on stage with X….
Let’s talk more about that at another time though….
Now it’s bed time here in Tokyo. Actually it’s bedtime far West of
me as well… ha ha
As the wonderful and sweet Keisuke (guitarist)  once wrote in his FB status….
It’s MORNING; Good NIGHT!

So how was December 8?

This is BUCK-TICK 夢魔 Muma The Nightmare LIVE
I choose this because it has subtitles in English
This video is changed from previous one since the one I had here originally
had been taken down.

Now I guess considering it being one of my favorite all time songs,
that is why it has extra high perceived quality by me, but I guess this is
the drama, the performance I had hoped for…

December 8th, I felt like Atsushi was tightened mentally…. like not
really giving it all…
yes, sure he threw water, but their wasn’t much else giving to the audience.
I felt like he was a hiding behind his black feather boa, hat and way too
much theater make up. I know… yes I know… he is drama and make up,
but drama and make-up can’t do it by itself.
Like my friend and I said almost at the same time, he felt like a marionette,
a puppet..
The true good moments came from U-ta and hide who actually as always, looked as if they truly enjoyed being there.
Imai, Toll and Atsushi did excellent jobs, and Toll threw his sticks out,
but it wasn’t connecting…. Perfection? Yes!  Boring? ALMOST

Maybe it’s stress that came on them now with double show schedule (because of shows like this RAZZLE DAZZLE ones from the spring),
and their new label and their anniversary….
just maybe it is… too much even for pros like BUCK-TICK
They just can’t ignite every time?
But truly I expected BUCK-TICK to be able to do just that…
Well enjoy the music!

BUCK-TICK Favorites vs. Setlist

It is 2.30am…. I started writing on this 14 hours ago..and now continuing..
it’s a massive pst, and mentally too…
I took a break and did some gift errands for the holidays.
Then came back and I have been sitting here, writing and editing and working and thinking
I put a lot of thoughts down… all about BUCK-TICK

So Razzle Dazzle….

Today, and last night (after coming back home from the concert with
BUCK-TICK),  I listened through ALL my BUCK-TICK songs!!

Look at my favorites in the list further down,
and compare with the set list from the Razzle Dazzle tour concert

So…..
I wanted to analyze and find out why … why I wasn’t content with
their live performance…
and whether
1. It was something with their performance yesterday
or
2. The choice of songs for the set list,  and hence music that didn’t
measure up to my preferences or expectations.

So in ordet to do that, let’s see how many of their set list songs on
December 8th are amongst the ones I like, or if they even resemble
the ones I do….

Please keep  in mind that I’m not saying it was a bad night, because
it really was a great evening!
AND their performance did TAKE OFF during their time on stage!
Yesterday, I wrote something along the lines of
“Perfect but a little boring” and YES that still holds,  but now after
the analysis I don’t think that’s the whole truth….
I think the SET LIST  played an important role in my perception,
and the fact that I had HIGH EXPECTATIONS!

And I cannot repeat this often enough, for a band of BUCK TICKs level,
I should have high expectations, and they should measure up to performances by X-Japan, Kuroyume, Abingdon and many many others
so then is it the RAZZLE DAZZLE songs, or what…??

It has been a very interesting venture and time consuming task to
listen through some 300 recordings….and doing it
CHRONOLOGICALLY!
Every single one from start to finish!!

I noticed that yes, I have a few albums I like better than others,
BUT on the whole I like at least one or two songs from each one
(with a few exceptions actually!)…..and of course it varies with my mood
what I like to hear….
I don’t want to be whining like some older fan and state
“I don’t like their newer stuff” – that’s the wrong attitude for BUCK-TICK!
but maybe this is what I will end up discovering…???

Because with BUCK-TICK that’s a good thing, and something I really like
with them,… they try things, they explore and they are doing it while still holding a high musical skill level as a trade mark!
So if I didn’t like change… then BUCK-TICK would never have appealed
to me… I’m sure… ha ha
Maybe this way we can find the answer to Razzle Dazzle’s sound?

So a reminder this list is highly dynamic and fluctuates over TIME!!

also the list is of course extremely subjective… these are my preferences… and say nothing about anything else than just that… but I assume
my picks are pretty commonplace and not odd in any way…. many of my choices have for ex been hits.
Here is my list of favorites marked with a♡ before the song title

Tenshi no Revolver (天使のリボルバー Angel’s revolver  2007)
not an album I care for too much obviously.. and shameless to say,
but I wasn’t really aware of this fact before I really listened through ALL
my BUCK-TICK albums…
this album has nothing that I care for much.

Memento Mori (2009)
The song ‘Heaven’ is ok, but not as far up as others on this list above here.

Hmmm… I see a trend now which I was NOT aware of
before listening
through ALL songs and albums chronologically….

Razzle Dazzle (October 13, 2010)
I like the ‘intro’
‘Razzle Dazzle Fragile’ it has that CLOWN sense to it…
Bolero is also ok as is
Gekka Reijin (月下麗人)
but the only one I really enjoy and that will get a ♡ is:
♡ Solaris

and I actually do like Razzle Dazzle better than for ex. Tenshi no Revolver and Memento Mori
