The Matrix

Today I once agan watched a favorite movie: The Matrix.
This time I watched it with eyes of what I am going through right now.

Life has this amazing feature…
We accumulate experiences which changes us.
We meet people who informs us, teaches us, gives us
and they are in our life for different reasons and needs.
We also meet people whom we misunderstand,
who takes from us, who leaves us behind,
who hurts us.

The older we get, the stretch behind us becomes longer,
and the experience bank gets bigger and bigger.
This however, does not necessarily mean we get wiser and wiser.
ha ha ha

Because that’s another feature life has..
we are creatures of habit.
Behavior- and thought patterns for example.
We strive for perfection…
Tomorrow I will be a better person
Tomorrow I will eat healthy
Tomorrow I will be more patient
Tomorrow I will be a better friend
Tomorrow I will learn from what I have been through
Tomorrow I will spend less money
Tomorrow I will be more generous…
We believe we CAN change..learn… grow…. improve…
we are still the same
We are creatures of habits.

To think outside the box,
to be creative,
to be hopeful,
to be happy,
to be inspiring,
to love unconditionally,
to be kind,
is really not easy, regardless of our age, and days lived in our life.

Well let’s just face it …
Life is a dang roller coaster
Life has good days and bad days.
Life has good years, and bad years,
Life gives us new relationships
while others break.
Change is inevitable
When life is at its darkest
is also the very moment when it will turn!

Now going back to the Matrix,

The movie is filled with a huge amount of religious symbolism
and is certainly food for thought.
Which reality is real?
Whose reality is real?

When I saw Neo take the red pill,
I wondered about myself.
Am I ready to take a red pill?

Taken from wikipedia:
“As narrated, the blue pill will allow the subject to remain in
the fabricated reality of the Matrix; the red serves as a “location device”
to locate the subject’s body in the real world and to prepare him or her
to be “unplugged” from the Matrix. Once one chooses the red or blue pill,
the choice is irrevocable.
…Neo takes the red pill and awakens in the real world,
where he is forcibly ejected from the liquid-filled chamber in
which he has been lying unconscious…

In a 2012 interview, Lana Wachowski said:

What we were trying to achieve with the story overall was
a shift, the same kind of shift that happens for Neo,
that Neo goes from being in this sort of cocooned
and programmed world, to having to participate
in the construction of meaning to his life. “

Now this is what speaks to me.
Participate in the construction of meaning to my own life.
However, to take the red pill is certainly not a pleasure ride.
To take the red pill ….or not?
Tomorrow I will learn from my mistakes.
Tomorrow I will do things differently.
Tomorrow I will calm down.
Tomorrow I will be a better person…

grace period

I felt the urge to give you some good news after the not so good ones below….

A lot of interesting live gigs are coming up and from now on I will make sure to have permission before taking it for granted. After all I have followed grace period since the get go, and gone to every live while here in Japan….

Anyway let’s focus on the good news…. Coming up is a Halloween special with two of my favorite bands Vagu*Project and DAZZLE!

Also in November, now this coming week end, is my own birthday ha ha ha… I will celebrate it at Club Sensation with two bands – Slave Sisters and Blade. I have not yet heard them live, but spoken with some of the members and I am sure we will all have a great time on Saturday.

Other bands in november include Musica FamiliaTheTheKuro (A member of the Auto-Mod family), more DAZZLE!, an interview with a band member that I will tell you more about later,  VoRCHAOS, and more Vagu*Project (of course),  also an exciting new band right now in the process of formation with former HERMIT guitarist Keigo, [MU:} and I will attend Tokyo Dark Castle later in November…

Then there are tons of bands I’m chosing between to see in November so stay tuned!! m/

Forward thru Rewinding

Looking forward thru some rewinding……….

It is September…. finally!!

This summer has been as slow as the last one when it comes to the blog. Looking at it from the bright side, that (the slowness that is) should then change pretty soon.

A FUN filled fall is planned and will soon be here
My concert and gig calendar is filled, and even over-saturated. There are many times this fall when I will have to choose between several gigs going on at the same time at different places.
Unfortunately cloning is, as of yet, not a possibility

People often talk about different super powers such as: teleporting and time travel. My biggest wish would be a temporary cloning. So I could go see two (or more) gigs at different locations, at the same time. That power seems however, even more remote than teleporting  à la“beam me down the Star Trek way”.

OK So what’s coming up?

Well first of all I’m still in Europe. In Sweden as a matter of fact. There hasn’t been tons of Live music over the summer either. As a matter of fact I have only been to two gigs these past two months. Once for Seremedy Live at Fryshuset and their release of their debut album:
“Welcome to our MADNESS”.
More about them on their website –
or their facebook:

Then under the blue moon, the very last night in August I went to KGB bar in Stockholm to see INORAN.

So the header said let’s rewind….

let’s go back a year… this is what met me then a year ago!
Welcome to Japan….

First time I had great help from my friend Shingo-san
He showed me everything there is to see in Tokyo as well as taught me a lot about Japanese culture and the Japanese mindset, primarily from his own perspective.
He also tagged along to a special night… anight that came to be a turning point for my time in Japan in many ways: the Live at Urawa Narciss with Seremedy

It was of course a wonderful thing to see Swedish guys being so brave as to perform here in Japan, but what really turned my personal path around that night was the band that performed right after Seremedy….

….. to be continued in a moment….
